ProductFree Desktop
Meet Will privately, on the computer you already own.
The planned free Desktop edition is a deliberately limited Will for one person: compatible local models, approved local files, and a visible boundary before anything uses the cloud.
Which decisions are still open in these notes?
Illustrative product story · availability varies by capability
Sometimes the useful context should not begin in the cloud.
Private files may not belong in a cloud prompt.
Trying local AI usually means assembling a model, files, and interface by hand.
An individual should not need a company deployment just to begin.
A smaller Will, with a deliberately smaller boundary.
In the planned Local Mode, supported inference stays on-device. Any cloud model or connected service must be identified before data crosses that boundary.
Private files may not belong in a cloud prompt.
- The context arrives together
- The right person gets one clear move
- The result stays visible
Free Desktop · in development
Free Local is the private starting point. Full Will is the company layer.
The foundation for local chat and a managed local model exists. Packaging, included models, and public one-click distribution are not released yet, so this is a product preview—not a download page.

Explicit boundary
A privacy boundary you can see
Managed Local mode keeps the model and conversation history on this computer. Choosing a cloud model or connected service changes that boundary and must be made visible before data crosses it.
Summarize the decision points in these notes.
What the free edition intentionally does not pretend to be
- Not a company-wide always-on observer
- Not a multi-user approval system
- Not the source of shared company truth
- Not released as a public installer yet
On-device statements apply to Hey Will Managed Local mode. Custom connections follow the privacy terms of the service selected.
